Deleting your account

If you want to leave, open User Settings and use the Delete Account section. You'll confirm with your password, because this can't be undone.

Deleting your account is permanent. Your posts, replies, messages, likes, and connections are removed - and, the same as deleting a single post, so is anything anyone else wrote underneath one of yours. Your username is retired rather than freed up: nobody, including you, can ever sign up with it again, so a link, a mention, or a follow from elsewhere in the Fediverse can never end up reaching a stranger wearing your old name.

There's no way to recover an account once it's gone, so be sure it's really what you want.

The site's administrator account can't be deleted, since a site needs at least one admin to keep running.
